Marking is where teachers learn the most about their students, and where they lose the most time.

No teacher can write thirty pages of specific, individual comments overnight. Ariel can, and the teacher still checks every one. Make every hour of marking count.

HOW IT WORKS

From a pile of scripts to approved feedback.

  1. Choose from the AQA past-paper bank or set your own, including custom Literature papers.

  2. Batch PDF with QR codes, or photograph exercise books on your phone. Ariel reads the handwriting and matches every script to a student.

  3. Each answer marked AO by AO against the AQA mark scheme: level first, then the mark.

  4. Nothing reaches students until you approve it. Then hand back feedback slips and see the class report.

WHAT YOU GET

One marker for every student, every class, every teacher.

Feedback students can act on

Built on one key moment in their essay, with questions to think about, sentence stems and a redrafting task. Written in your department’s own language.

See your whole class

What the class does well, who is behind and what to teach next. Group views for EAL, PP and SEND, progress across mocks, and a ready-made feedback lesson.

Every class in one place

For Heads of Department: AO averages and trends across every class, intervention flags, and marking consistency across teachers.

“I built Ariel because marking a class set properly took my evenings, and my students still got less feedback than they deserved.”

Questions teachers ask first

Can it read handwriting?

Yes. Scan a class set as a batch PDF, or photograph exercise books on your phone. Ariel transcribes each script, and you can check the transcription during review.

How accurate is it?

In English Literature Paper 1, Ariel is within 2 marks of the examiner on around 4 in 5 essays. On Language reading questions it is within one level of the examiner almost every time.

What happens to student data?

Names and personal details are removed before any essay is sent to AI, and essays are never used to train AI models. Ariel works under UK GDPR, with DPA and DPIA templates available on request.

Do I still have to check the marks?

Yes. Every mark goes through a review stage before students see it, and you can change any mark or any AO.
