Cookie Policy

Version 1.1 | Effective date: 30 September 2026

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work properly and remember your preferences.

What cookies does ArielEd use?

ArielEd uses essential cookies to run the platform and, only if you agree, Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers.

Essential cookies

Cookie namePurposeDuration
ariel-sidYour login session. Keeps you signed in while you use the platform. Without it, you would need to log in on every page.7 days, or until you sign out
sb-[ref]-auth-tokenSupabase authentication token. Used alongside the session cookie to verify your identity on the server.Session

Analytics cookies (optional — only with your consent)

If you click Accept analytics on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets the cookies below. They tell us which pages are visited, how people move around the site, and the type of device and browser used, so we can improve Ariel. Google Analytics does not store your IP address, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookie namePurposeDuration
_gaGoogle Analytics. Distinguishes one browser from another with a random identifier, so we can count visitors.2 years
_ga_CQL8S89CQGGoogle Analytics. Keeps track of your current visit.2 years

If you click Reject analytics, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and these cookies are never set. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie).

Why we ask for consent

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies that are "strictly necessary" for a service you have requested do not require consent. Both essential cookies listed above are strictly necessary — without them, login and secure access to the platform cannot function.

Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, so we only set them after you agree. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies.

What we do NOT use

  • Facebook Pixel or other advertising trackers
  • Social media sharing cookies
  • Third-party marketing cookies

How to manage or delete cookies

You can delete cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data

Note: Deleting the ariel-sid cookie will sign you out of ArielEd.

To stop analytics without deleting other cookies, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and choose Reject analytics.

Changes to this policy

If we introduce any new cookies, we will update this policy and, if those cookies require consent under PECR, add a consent mechanism before placing them. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before any material change to our cookie practices.
